Baby card for Faith

I really enjoyed making this card, but with that many layers, it took me ages to do. I think if I got used to using sketches that it would help speed things up as I take ages deciding my layout and then my colours etc.
I will be entering this card into the 2nd Phindy's Place challenge. You had to use 1 of her lovely images to make a card or a project and include ribbon. The image I used is called 'Contentment'

I'm not sure how you know what challenges your cards are suitable for, I'll have to suss that out!!

The following was used to make the card;
Pastel pink and pastel green Bazzill card
Pink gingham- Making Memories- Kid's collection
Pastel green paper punched with Martha Stewart heart border punch
Pink ribbons- Avec baby girl collection
White organza ribbon- Create and craft
Frame-Scalloped edge frameabilities-Spellbinder
Sentiment- Deja Views "A babe in your arms with all of it's charms, undeniably from God"

I've used a couple of different ribbons across the card, then I laced the organza ribbon through the frame. I have never tried this before, but I think it's quite effective.

As I have previously mentioned, my daughter-in-law's brother & wife had a new little girl at the weekend and they are calling her Faith. This card will get posted to them very soon.

Thank you again for visiting my blog.
Many hugs,
Trish x

60th Birthday

Firstly today I'd like to say congratulations to my hubby, Martin for winning the doorhanger challenge from Michelle Perkett. $15 to spend on more gorgeous images from her shop- yippee!! Many thanks goes to Lynne Armstrong who set up this great challenge.

Todays card is a lovely bookatrix my sister ordered for her friend Doreen's 60th birthday (yesterday) Hope you had a great day, Doreen, surrounded by family and friends.

The Bookatrix is formed using the Glitter Girls board. I have accumulated quite a number of their boards, but this one is my favourite and gets used more than the others.

Base card is white textured from the Papermill
1st Layer; Blue pearl card
2nd Layer; Silver mirri paper
3rd Layer; White embossed pearl paper from QVC
60 Flowerpot from flowersoft
Blue & White flowers from Wild Orchid crafts
Handmade flowers made using Martha Stewart punch- medium waterlily from Joanna Sheen

Well I watched Avatar on DVD last night and thoroughly enjoyed it- one of the best films I've watched in a while- even had a wee tear at the end. Did anyone else feel moved by this film?
Unfortunately I never managed to get any sleep last night, so I'm going to try get an hour now (if possible)
Hope you all have a great day whatever you're doing and thank you so much for taking the time to leave me such encouraging comments.
Many hugs & God Bless,
Trish x

Enchanted easel card

This card is going to be entered into the Michelle Perkett studio challenge 26; Use a colour combination (Pale blue/ Turquoise/ Celery & Olive ) and an easel card.
I love making easel cards, they are so easy to make yet they look so effective. The image I decided to use from Michelle's many gorgeous images is 'Enchanted slumber'
I think this card will be suitable for a new baby, probably for a boy with the green and blue colours. I don't have anyone in mind to send this to, so it can go into my box for future use. Shame the colours weren't pinks as my daughter-in-law's brother and wife had a little baby girl in the early hours of Saturday morning. They are calling her Faith- how beautiful is that name. At least I have an excuse to make a similar card in pink!!

Items used to make the card;
Michelle Perkett- Enchanted slumber image
White A5 card with chevron lace- Red Hot Bed
Pale blue Bazzill card
Be Blessed BP in Cool Mint & Knit Together
Sentiment 'A Glimpse of God in my child's face' - Be Blessed rub-ons and cut into shape using Spellbinders Fancy Tags
Gorgeous pearls in 2 different sizes- The Hobby house
Coloured image with Promarkers
Stickles for fairy wings and center of flowers

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this, I really do appreciate it so very much.
Now I am going to watch Avatar which was just released today- Yippee!! Afterwards, I hope I get some sleep as it really has been in short supply lately.

God Bless and many hugs,
Trish x

First post

Hi Everyone,
This is a big step for me to have my own blog. I would like to thank Tammy for her help and encouragement to get this going. Ultimately this blog will be used for my card challenges and in return, maybe I can be a little bit of inspiration to others. I look forward to your feedback and getting to know you more along the way.

My very first challenge is for reaching 300 followers in the PSP group of Michelle Perkett. This challenge was set up by Lynne. As yet I have to learn how to do the linking thing, so you will just have to go to Michelle's blog and have a look under the challenges- sorry bout that! In saying that, you will totally enjoy looking at Michelle's images, I am such BIG fan. Lynne has asked us to make a door hanger and include one of Michelle's images, she has included a tutorial on making the hanger if anyone needs it.
Fortunately I have a hubby who works with wood every day, so I asked him to make me a couple. I also asked him if he would like to try burning one of Michelle's images onto the hanger.Martin is a very talented guy and he makes a lot of gifts etc from wood then burns the artwork and personalises them by pyrography. I think he did a great job and he really enjoyed working with this particular image- it's called 'Butterfly fairy'

My door hanger uses the same image as Martin's and the items used are as follows;
Flower BP from DCWV- the stack 6
Floral embossed glitter vellum from Papermania- Spring floral
Michelle Perkett 'Butterfly Fairy' image
Butterfly ribbon slider from Red Hot Bed
Pink lace
Butterfly punch from Martha Stewart
'So fairy special' greeting from Heartwarming vintage stickers- Fairy enchanting
Gems- clear with aurora borealis coating
The image was coloured using Promarkers

Apologies for not having the photos in the order and in the place I want them, but I still have a lot to learn, so please bear with me and do come back to see what else I've been creating.
Many hugs,
Trish x
